Sponzo — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Sponzo ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that helps content creators track brand and sponsorship deals. This policy explains what data Sponzo handles and how. We designed Sponzo to be privacy-first: your data stays on your own device.

Data we collect

Sponzo does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. We do not operate a server that stores your information, and we have no analytics or tracking.

Data stored on your device

All information you enter into Sponzo — including deal details (brand names, amounts, dates, notes), and any content you capture from Gmail — is stored locally on your device using Chrome's local storage. This data never leaves your computer and is only accessible to you. Uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser data removes it.

Gmail access

Sponzo requests access to mail.google.com solely to display a "Save to Sponzo" button when you have an email open, and to read the content of an email only when you choose to capture it by clicking that button. Sponzo reads the sender, subject, and a short snippet of the open email at that moment. Sponzo does not read your inbox in the background, does not access other emails, and does not transmit any email content anywhere — captured content is saved only to your device's local storage.

License verification

If you purchase Sponzo Pro, the license key you enter is sent to Gumroad's license verification service (api.gumroad.com) to confirm your purchase. This request contains only your license key and our product identifier. We do not receive or store your payment details; all payment processing is handled by Gumroad under their own privacy policy.

Permissions

Sponzo requests only the minimum permissions needed to function: local storage (to save your deals), alarms and notifications (for deadline and payment reminders), and access to mail.google.com (for the capture feature). Sponzo does not request access to your browsing history, other websites, or any broad permissions.

Third parties

The only third-party service Sponzo communicates with is Gumroad, and only for license verification as described above. Sponzo does not use advertising, analytics, or any other third-party trackers.

Children

Sponzo is a productivity tool intended for creators and is not directed at children under 13.
