The short version: PromptCanvas stores everything locally in your browser. We do not run servers that collect your data, we do not track you, and we do not sell or share any information. Your API keys never leave your device except to call the AI provider you chose.

1. Who we are

PromptCanvas ("the extension", "we", "us") is a browser extension that adds a prompt-building toolbar to ChatGPT for creating AI image prompts. It is developed and maintained by ADX. You can contact us at aadarshraj380@gmail.com.

2. What information the extension handles

PromptCanvas is designed to be local-first. The following data is stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device:

Your settings and preferences (selected style, ratio, quality, theme, mode).
Your API key(s) for OpenAI and/or Google Gemini, if you choose to enter them.
Your Gumroad license key, if you activate PromptCanvas Pro.
Your prompt history (the last 20 prompts you sent), saved presets, story-mode anchors, and usage counts.

This information stays on your device. It is not transmitted to any server operated by us.

3. Your API keys

If you enter an OpenAI or Google Gemini API key to enable AI prompt expansion, that key is stored locally in your browser. It is used only to send requests directly from your browser to the respective provider (OpenAI or Google) to expand your prompt. We never receive, store, or have access to your API keys. Your use of those providers is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

4. License validation

If you purchase PromptCanvas Pro and activate a license key, the extension sends that key to Gumroad's license verification API (api.gumroad.com) to confirm it is valid. This request is made directly from your browser to Gumroad. We do not operate an intermediary server. Gumroad's handling of this request is governed by Gumroad's privacy policy.

5. Data sent to ChatGPT

PromptCanvas operates inside the ChatGPT website. When you create an image prompt, the extension inserts the generated prompt (and any reference image you attach) into ChatGPT's own input, exactly as if you had typed it yourself. This data goes to ChatGPT (OpenAI) under their privacy policy, not to us.

6. What we do NOT do

We do not run analytics or tracking inside the extension.
We do not collect, store, or transmit your prompts, settings, or keys to our own servers.
We do not sell, rent, or share any personal information.
We do not use cookies or advertising identifiers.

7. Permissions

PromptCanvas requests only the permissions it needs to function:

Storage — to save your settings, keys, and history locally in your browser.
Host access to ChatGPT — to add the prompt toolbar to the ChatGPT page.
Host access to OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Gumroad APIs — so the extension can expand prompts using your own API key and validate your Pro license.

8. Data retention & deletion

Because all data is stored locally, you are in full control. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension's stored data in your browser, or by uninstalling the extension, which deletes all locally stored information.

9. Children's privacy

PromptCanvas is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of the page.
